All-In |
A term used in poker and other card games in which the player bets all of his or her chips during a betting round. |
In poker, an “ante” is a forced bet that occurs before cards are dealt. Each player must bet the same amount of money or chips into the pot. See also Pot. |

A popular casino and gambling destination located in the state of New Jersey, in the United States. |

A gambling card game which has only three possible results: “Player,” “Banker” and “Tie,” terms which refer to the options on which the player can bet. Bet |
When a player decides to wager money or chips during a round. |
Blackjack is one of the most popular casino card games in the world. Often previously associated with “card counting” (keeping track of which cards have been played since the last shuffle). The object of the game is to beat the dealer with a hand of cards that does not go over 21. On LuckyHog, blackjack is played with six decks of cards. Face cards count as 10, aces can count as either 1 or 11, and all other cards count as their face value. |

In poker, a type of forced wager that the player who holds the blind must make at the beginning of betting, before cards are dealt. The small blind is typically half the size of the big blind. The small blind is held by the player immediately to the left of the dealer. See also Ante and Blind, Big. |

In poker, a type of forced wager that the player who holds the blind must make at the beginning of betting, before the cards are dealt. Bluff |
In poker, to “bluff” is to place a bet or raise a bet even though the hand that the player is holding is presumably inferior, or has little chance of winning the round. |

Bring-In |
In Seven Card Stud poker, a type of forced wager. See also Seven Card Stud. |
Burning cards |
The process by which the dealer “throws away” or “burns” cards dealt from the top of the deck, before dealing cards to the rest of the players. Burn cards are normally placed face down and not shown to players during the game. |
Bust |
In blackjack, a player will “bust” if the sum of the face value of the cards dealt to the player have totaled over 21. |

Call |
Wagering term in poker. When a player matches the current bet. |
aka “Caribbean Stud Poker.” A form of poker that has similar rules to five card stud. However, rather than playing against other players, Caribbean poker is played against the house, so there is no bluffing involved. See also Five Card Stud and Stud Poker. |

Based on the children’s card game of War, in which the dealer and player each lay down a card, and the high card wins. In Casino War, aces are always high. Check |
In poker, a situation when a player may pass the right to bet a wager during the round of betting, as long as no wager exists yet during the betting round. |

Column Bet |

Corner Bet |
In roulette, indicates a bet made when a chip is placed between any four number groupings. See Roulette. |
Come Out |
In craps, the first roll is known as the “come out.” See also Craps. |
Aka “Shared Cards” or “Board Cards.” These are cards which are dealt face up and can be seen and shared by all players at the table. Many variations of card games incorporate community cards. |

Craps is a casino dice game, in which players place bets on the outcome of one roll, or of a series of rolls of two dice. |

D |
|
The person who distributes cards to players and manages the action at a poker table. See also Dealer Button. |
|
A small round icon with a “D” that indicates which player is acting as the dealer during the round. See also Dealer. |
|
A variation of Video Poker in which all twos in the card deck(s) are considered wild cards, i.e. they can stand for any card. See also Wild Card and Multi-Hand Deuces Wild. |

Double Down |
In blackjack, after being dealt your first two cards, you may have the opportunity to “double down.” This will double your bet, and you will be dealt one additional card to complete your hand. |
Dozen Bet |
In roulette, when a chip is placed on the first 12 grouping, second 12 grouping, or third 12 grouping. See Roulette. |

European Wager |
A wager type in sportsbook. See Sportsbook |
Even Money Bet |
In roulette, when a chip is placed either on Odd or Even, or Red or Black. See Roulette. |

Face Card |
In a deck of cards, the “face cards” include Jack, Queen, and King. |
aka “5 Card Stud.” A popular variation of poker commonly played in casinos. See Stud Poker. |

In poker, the “flop” refers to the first three face-up cards that are dealt to the board. The flop is dealt after the first round of betting is complete. |
|
A hand in which any five cards are all in the same suit. The cards may be non-consecutive or consecutive. If the cards are consecutive, the hand may be a Straight Flush or a Royal Flush. Depending on which card is the highest in the hand, the flush may be nicknamed appropriately. For example, if the highest card were a King, and all the cards were in spades, then the hand would be called a “King-high spade flush.” See also Straight Flush and Royal Flush. Fold |
In poker, when a player decides to drop out of a game. The player forfeits all monies already added to the pot, and cannot wager any further. |
Four of a Kind |
A hand which holds four cards of the same denomination. For example, four aces. See also Poker Hand. |
Full House |
A hand which holds any three cards of the same denomination, plus any pair of cards of a different denomination. For example, three aces and a pair of tens. If there is a tie amongst players, the three of a kind will break the tie first (whoever has the highest denomination three of a kind will win), followed by the pair. See also Poker Hand. |
Future Wager |
A wager type in sportsbook. See Sportsbook |

High Card |
A hand in which the highest card held wins. This will occur only if no other standard winning hand is achieved. See also Poker Hand. |
Hit |
In blackjack, a player may request another card, or a “hit.” |
Hole Card |
In blackjack, the dealer’s first face down card. See Blackjack |

IF Wager |
A wager type in sportsbook. See Sportsbook |
Insurance |
In blackjack, the dealer will offer “insurance” if the dealer’s up-card is an ace. Insurance is a type of secondary bet, in which the player is betting that the dealer actually has a blackjack. See also Blackjack. |

A variation of Video Poker that does not use wild cards, but in which a winning hand requires a pair of jacks or higher. See also Video Poker and Multi-Hand Jacks or Better. |

|
A game similar to lottery or bingo, in which a player chooses anywhere from 1 to 20 different numbers and marks them on a ticket which contains 80 numbers (1 through 80). At specific times, 20 numbers are drawn out at random. The player is paid out based on how many of his or her numbers match the ones that are drawn. A variation of poker which is played with a standard 52 card deck plus a single joker card. Each player (up to six) plays against the dealer. Point Spread Wager |

A “hand” is the set of cards which are dealt to a player. A “poker hand” consists of five cards that constitute a winning hand, or the best set of five cards among players at a table. Aka “Acey-deucy” or “In-Between.” A card game of chance, in which only three cards are used at a time, which are ranked as in poker, with aces high. First the player bets, then the dealer deals two cards, and after seeing the first two cards, the player has the option to raise or not. The third card is then dealt. If the third (middle) card ranks between the first two, the player wins. If the third card is a match or is outside the range of the first two cards, the player loses. |

Reverse Wager |

After the French, meaning “small wheel,” roulette is a popular casino and gambling game. There are two versions of roulette: American and European. The dealer (or, “croupier” in the European version) will spin the wheel one way, and spin a ball in the other direction along the edge of the wheel. aka “7 Card Stud” A popular variation of poker commonly played in casinos. Seven Card Stud games are played with a maximum of eight players per table. Each player, starting from the player sitting to the left of the dealer, is dealt two cards face down, then four cards face up, and the final (river) card is dealt face down. While similar to a game like Texas Hold’em, in comparison, Seven Card Stud has a maximum of only eight players per table and has five betting rounds. See Stud Poker. |

Aka “One Armed Bandit.” A slot machine is a certain type of casino game, and is currently one of the most popular forms of casino gambling. Traditional slot machines have three or more reels, which spin when the player pulls a lever on the side of the machine. The payoffs come to the player when the symbols align in specific patterns or grids at the front of the machine once the reels stop spinning. |

Split Bet |
In roulette, indicates a bet made when a chip is placed on the line between two numbers on the board. A win is achieved if either of the two numbers comes up. See Roulette. |
Splitting Pairs |
In blackjack, if a player is dealt a pair, then the player may split the pair and create two separate hands, effectively doubling the player’s total bet. Each hand is played independently, and the player may win, lose, or bust with either or both hands. |

Stand |

Straight |

Straight-Up Bet |
In roulette, indicates a bet made when a chip is placed on any one number on the board. See Roulette. |
Street Bet |
In roulette, indicates a bet made when a chip is placed at the top of the layout on any number of the twelve rows of three numbers. See Roulette. |
A style of poker in which players are dealt different combinations of face up and face down cards, and engage in multiple rounds of betting. Commonly played stud poker variations include five-card stud and seven-card stud. See also Five Card Stud and Seven Card Stud. |

Suit |
In a deck of cards, the “suit” refers to one of the possible categories that the cards are divided into. Normally, the four standard suits include hearts, spades, diamonds, and clubs. |

Table Stakes |
Refers to a wagering situation in which only the chips in play at the beginning of each hand may be used throughout the hand. Players may not bring in additional money to the table during the hand. |

One of the most popular variations of poker played in the world. A type of community card poker game and one of the most popular variations of poker played in the world. There are four rounds of betting involved. A typical sequence would look like this: Each player is dealt two face down cards (“pocket cards”), first round of betting, dealer reveals three community board cards (“the flop”) face up, second round of betting occurs, dealer turns over one more community card (“the turn”), third round of betting occurs, dealer turns over final community card (“the river”), final round of betting, then a final showdown. The player may build his poker hand using any combination of the following:
