United States Casinos
Some of the most famous casinos in the world can be found in the United States. Some of the biggest can be found in Nevada, but other casinos are quickly gaining in size and popularity across the country as well.
Las Vegas Casinos
Las Vegas is, of course, one of the premier casino destinations in the world, with world-class casino and entertainment venues found all along the main street in the city, otherwise known as the Las Vegas Strip. With over 100 casinos, thousands of gaming tables, and hundreds of thousands of gaming machines, Las Vegas is second-to-none when it comes to casino destinations.
Some of the biggest casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada, are found along the Las Vegas Strip, including the South Point Casino, the New York, New York Casino & Hotel, and the MGM Grand Hotel Casino.
One of the main economic drivers for the state of Nevada, the casino industry and associated tourist dollars have helped to build the state’s growth over the years. The casino industry has also helped with boosting employment rates, and has popularized the area as a prime tourist location, attracting visitors from around the world.
Many of the world’s most famous and popular poker players are also based in Las Vegas, or end up migrating to the location in order to take advantage of the city’s wide variety of poker and gaming facilities, tournaments, and communities.
Reno Casinos
Reno, Nevada, is the second largest casino destination in the western half of the United States. Second only to Las Vegas, Reno is also famous for its casinos, and is known as the “Biggest Little City in the World.”
Two of the largest casinos in Reno include the Atlantis and The Peppermill. The latter has undergone massive expansion and renovations recently, and boasts a large convention space, resort pool complex, and lounges and restaurants. The Grand Sierra Resort is another casino destination that also includes a sports center.
Along with major casinos, Reno is also home to some of the largest gaming technology corporations in the world, making it a key manufacturing and development center for the industry.
Atlantic City, New Jersey Casinos
With tens of thousands of gaming machines and over 1,400 table games, Atlantic City, New Jersey, is one of the largest casino centers on the eastern seaboard of the United States. Famous for its boardwalk, Atlantic City has been a popular resort and tourist destination in the US for many years.
Complete with world class accommodations, the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort is one of the largest casinos in Atlantic City. The Tropicana Casino and Resort is also popular, as is Bally’s Atlantic City. All three of these casinos have huge square footage dedicated to casinos and gaming, and each come attached to world-class hotel accommodations, making them destinations in themselves.
Biloxi, Mississippi Casinos
Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Biloxi residents and businesses are rebuilding their city and infrastructure. The re-opening of several casinos is helping to revitalize the area as a prime tourist location again.
Several casino resort hotels can be found in Biloxi, and include 24 hour gambling, concert entertainment and shows, and restaurants. The larger casinos include The Grand Casino – Biloxi, The Imperial Palace, The Isle of Capri Casino Resort, and the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.
New Orleans Casinos
New Orleans residents and businesses are also rebuilding their city and infrastructure after the Hurricane Katrina disaster. The presence of casinos will help to revitalize the area as a prime tourist location again.
Two of the largest casinos based in New Orleans include the Harrah’s New Orleans Casino and Bally’s Belle of Orleans. There are currently thousands of gaming machines in Louisiana, and the majority of them are found within New Orleans. Louisiana also has a legalized lottery system.
Canada Casinos
Casinos and major and minor lotteries can be found across the country. Everything from small town bingo halls to major country-wide lotteries bring billions of dollars into the local economies across the country.
Canada is home to many large, popular casinos. Many of these casinos also include other entertainment facilities, including restaurants, stage performances, and concerts. From the Gateway Casino in Vancouver, to the Stampede Casino in Calgary, to the Niagara Casino in Ontario, the range and variety of casinos available in Canada is varied and diverse, and all offer a wide variety of gaming experiences.
Mexico Casinos
Casinos in Mexico have recently been legalized again, taking advantage of all the tourist dollars flowing into the popular tourist destination. Many US based casinos are eager to set up shop in this country, in major tourist and resort centers such as Acapulco and Mazatlan.
